2008 IWF MASTERS CHAMPIONSHIPS

Argostoli, Kefalonia, Greece, September 26^th - October 4^th. ,2008.

The competition has been held on this Greek Island previously and the venue is repeated by popular demand. The competition is in the main village of an idyllic Greek Island with picturesque coastal villages dotted around the island’s coast. Anybody interested in attending can view spectacular scenes of the island in the film “Captain Corelli’s Mandolin.” I would encourage any qualified lifter to attend this magnificent setting. A great start to a build up to the WMG2009 in Sydney.

Intending lifters please note the following:

all monies are to be in Euros and in the form of a bank cheque made out to the IWF Masters.

Please note that the Entry Forms plus bank cheque must be on my desk by Monday 16^th.June 2008. This date is non negotiable.

2008 AWF MASTERS CHAMPIONSHIPS

The AWF 2008 Masters Championships is to be hosted by the Tasmanian Weightlifting Association on Saturday June 14^th 2008 in Launceston.

The competition promises to be well supported as a lead up to the WMG2009 and there have already been numerous enquiries requesting details of the event. I would suggest organizing flights and accommodation as soon as possible and I look forward to seeing you there. Please make sure all entry forms are sent, as instructed on the forms, addressed directly to me by the closing date.

Please note the Verification of Entries and Technical Meeting will be held at the competition venue at 7:00pm on Friday 13^th.June.

There is a map on the website of the venue to assist in giving directions: www.door-of-hope.org Go to the “Contact Us” link. There you will find a map from Google Maps. If you go to the link below the map to enlarge it, it can then be printed.

There will be a wide range of hot snacks and meals, tea and coffee available through the café just outside the competition venue. At the conclusion of the competition a banquet will be held at Sandors On The Park where presentations and awards will be given with a buffet style menu.

Suggested accommodation is Sandors On The Park, 3 Brisbane Street, Launceston.
